On Friday, April 17th, ten of Atlanta’s talented creatives and arts organizations came together with the help of web development platform to produce an evening of art, dance, and music. In collaboration with local arts magazine Deer Bear Wolf, Wix kicked off DIY + ATL to showcase some of their amazing Atlanta Wix users and their peers at the new General Assembly space in Ponce City Market.

Street artists Squishiepuss, Make Blackout Poetry, Black Cat Tips, Rising Red Lotus, Molly Rose Freeman, Yoyo Ferro, and Monica Alexander collaborated all day and night to create stunning dry erase marker murals. Dance collective Zoetic performed and DJ Feast of violet debuted his newest experimental music. All of these creative efforts came together when the artists sat down to a panel that offered advice to other local creatives about achieving success and promoting their art to the public.

One of the event’s organizers, John Carroll, founder of Make Blackout Poetry and a Wix user, said: “We were able to take a small idea and turn it into something special for the city of Atlanta. I really like the Wix website platform, but I loved working with the Wix team even more.”
